Geoff Bellew Joins Athena Software as CEO
Athena Software is very pleased to announce Geoff Bellew as its new CEO, effective July 1, 2017.
Working out of Athena’s head office in Waterloo, Geoff will oversee the company’s global operations, and will focus on continuing to scale Athena’s worldwide growth within the competitive human services Software as a Service (SaaS) market.
Penelope, Athena Software’s flagship product, is a comprehensive client management SaaS solution used by thousands of not-for-profit organizations in the health and social services field around the world.
Geoff joins Athena from Communitech, where he is currently serving as a senior strategic advisor to a wide variety of growing tech companies in Waterloo Region.
Geoff brings over 40 years of experience as a senior executive in financial services and technology, and serves as a director and chair of a wide variety of not-for-profit and social enterprise organizations, including Grand River Hospital and Habitat for Humanity.
“We are thrilled to welcome Geoff to the Athena family as our new CEO,” said Greg Stanley-Horn, who co-founded Athena Software in 2001 with his wife Diane Stanley-Horn and brother Kevin Stanley, all of whom will remain with the company in executive roles.
“Geoff’s business expertise, along with his nonprofit leadership experience and passion, will serve Athena well as we continue our incredible growth into a global leader in SaaS case management solutions for health and social services.”
Geoff’s background in senior executive roles, as well as his decades of community volunteer work, make him the ideal choice to lead Athena’s growing staff in North America, Australia, and Europe, and to accelerate the next phase of Athena’s growth into a world leader in providing innovative, outcomes-driven software for social services.
“I am truly excited to be joining Athena,” said Geoff, “to help the founders and its talented team execute its ambitious growth strategy to build a global company dedicated to serving a real and significant need within the health and social services sector.”
