ATHENA SOFTWARE DIRECTOR PRESENTS AT NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN AUSTRALIA

Greg Stanley-Horn, director of deployment at Athena Software (www.athenasoftware.net), recently presented at the the fourth annual Family Relationship Services Australia (FRSA) conference, a national event attracting over 600 attendees from Australia's social services sector.

Stanley-Horn made a joint presentation at the event with Sandra Vallance, director of IT and marketing at Relationships Australia South Australia (RASA).

Their presentation -- 'Trends in Data Management and Technology: Supporting the Workforce and Innovation in the Community Services Sector' -- reviewed the change management process for organizations moving from paper to an integrated management information system, such as Athena Software's Penelope case management application. The presentation also showed how technology can help build capacity within organizations and respond to international industry trends.

"The conference was a huge success," says Stanley-Horn. "It was wonderful to have the opportunity to connect with so many providers in the family services sector. The level of collaboration and innovation among relationship services organizations in Australia is very impressive."

According to the FRSA website, the conference -- titled 'Workforce and Innovation: Building Future Capacity' -- was "by far" their largest to date. Held at the RACV Royal Pines resort on Australia's Gold Coast in Queensland from November 8 to 10, the conference explored ways to respond to the changing and complex needs of Australian families through individual and organizational capacity building. Other speakers at the event included Australia's attorney general Robert McLelland and chief justice Diana Bryant.
